5 out of 5 stars Buy this Bag!!   December 30, 2008

If you are 5'10 and at least 180lbs this is an awesome bag. All the features you'd want AND it comes with a Lifetime Warranty from High Sierra. You can't beat that!

5 out of 5 stars Very well built pack with a lot of pockets.   November 18, 2008

I can't believe that this pack is so inexpensive. It is very well built with a lot of pockets and "D" rings so you can hang things on it. The only thing that I have to change is to extend the straps for the sleeping bag mount because my bag is built for super cold temperatures and is quite large.

I have hiked in the Sierra's for 14 years and have worked in North Pole Exploration for ten years as well as being a North Pole Expedition Leader, so I have a lot of experience in these things. I am also the author of the story, "Why God Sent Me to the North Pole."

The pack even has a GPS pocket on the shoulder strap. It does not have a solid metal frame like my old pack, but the new construction makes a frame unnecessary.

Now is the time to stock up on all of your survival equipmet. With the changing economy and political times, you will never know when you will need to have this equipment. This pack is a large size and is built for extended stays in the wild. The straps are well built and make the pack very easy to put on and take off. It has a special rainsuit for the pack, built right into the pack. I highly recommend this pack for anyone who wants to stay in the wild for a week or more.

4 out of 5 stars Not for the thin   April 21, 2008

While I was impressed by the size, price, and quality, I was very frustrated to have to return this bag because in as much as I wanted to keep it, no matter how tight I tried to fasten the waste belt, it simply didn't fit snuggly on hips of my 30 inch waist. Basically the nicely padded hip pads were greater than 30 inches around, preventing further tightening of the waist. Seems like a great bag but there's no way one could carry the weight on their shoulders alone.

5 out of 5 stars versatile excellent pack   February 24, 2008

im really impressed with how well built this pack is. lots of storage. the extra pockets on the exterior are great for quick access gear. i have it fully packed now for a 14 day expedition in the ozarks. and there is still alot of room left. all of the load adjustments that can be made to this bag make it very versatile. im 6'2" 255 lbs and this pack fits perfect. it will fit most people in the range of 5'8" 150 lbs to 6'6" 280 lbs. the rain fly in the bottom pouch is always good too. and buying a quality hydration bladder with a filter is a real plus.

4 out of 5 stars Great large pack   January 1, 2008

I recently bought this pack and love it. Larger outdoorsmen (I am 6'2", 220) will find that this pack fits well and is adjustable for taller individuals. Shorter or smaller backpackers may find that the pack is simply too large (it would be difficult to tighten the hip belt for a waist smaller than 34"). The main comparment is huge and the center access makes it useful on short or long treks for getting to your gear. Best hidden feature: the rain fly is semi-attached to the pack and stows in its own pocket at the very bottom of the pack. I would definitely buy this pack again.
