Tired of sleepless nights at the campsite, whether because your sleeping bag isn't warm enough or you're just plain fussy? Turn to the Silk Sleep Sack from Travel Hammock, a 100-percent silk sleeping bag liner that's designed to keep you cozy on chilly nights. Silk is a natural and breathable material, and provides a luxurious and comfortable sleeping environment.

The Silk Sleek Sack--which keeps you warm on cold nights--comes with a small stuff sack.
More importantly, the Silk Sleep Sack adds 10 to 12 degrees to your sleeping bag temperature, so you can stay warm when the mercury drops. Plus, the liner makes a terrific standalone sleeping sack when you're staying in hotels or hostels--a must for travelers who are slightly uncomfortable with their accommodations.

The liner comes with an attached waterproof stuff sack that prolongs the life of your liner and is great for storage. Other details include a side/top entrance, a pillow compartment, and ties on each side to provide a snug fit. Compatible with any style of sleeping bag, the Silk Sleep Sack weighs 5 ounces and comes in navy blue.

5 out of 5 stars wonderful sleep surface feel   September 22, 2008

extremely light-weight silk sleep sack with attached stuff sack & pillow slot. the silk fabric feels just wonderful against your skin. it is soft without being slidey like some silks. indeed, as i have seen mentioned in other reviews, this is not the most durable product & it does turn over with you at times.

the first problem is, of course, associated with the weight - less materials equals less weight, but also equals less durability. over time, it develops stretch marks & starts to fall apart along those lines. i actually sleep in it at home all the time, so the durability thing needs to be understood in that context.

the second problem happens with nighties or other sleep sacks as well - in short with any tube in your bed or sleeping bag not tacked down at the sides. you can tack it down by using safety pins through the stuff sack & some of the attached ties to whatever is handy - the mattress, the sleeping bag, etc. - if you are so inclined.

despite these two problems, i still love this product & am preparing to purchase my third one since i have not found anything comparable that i like better. i like to use it when i travel to keep myself cocooned in this most luxurious feeling fabric regardless of the state of the sheets or blankets i am offered. i use it pulled up to my waist over all my clothes, anytime i will be sitting outdoors when it is cold. at hostels, i use it as a sarong to keep myself decent on the way to the showers. it air dries quite quickly after being washed.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect for Traveling   August 19, 2008

I purcahsed this before a big european vacation where I had planned on staying at 10-15 hostels, motels and resorts. I am 190 lbs and 6ft tall. Some of the places I did not look forward to staying at but the sleep sack made it comfortable, easy to use and most of all lightweight. There is not a better quality sleep sack on the market and when you add the price into the equation I beleive it is a best buy. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I have enjoyed mine.

5 out of 5 stars Unexpected Luxury   April 26, 2008

I ordered the Sleep Sack to take on a bareboat sailboat charter in the Caribbean. Caribbean bareboat charters typically come with sheets and you rarely need anything more in the tropical climate. On charters in cooler climates I bring a sleeping bag or fleece sleeping bag liner.

The Sleep Sack int it's pouch was barely noticeable in my luggage (compared to the snorkel gear, sailing gear...).

That first night I climbed into my bunk and unfurled it, letting it settle gently over my bare legs. The breeze coming through the open hatch above me rustled it, a lovely sensation for a while, but eventually distracting as I tried to sleep. Easy solution: add the provided sheet over it to still the movement but retain the silky touch.

On breezeless nights I used just the sack. On breezey nights when my crew were seeking blankets, the combined sack and sheet were perfect.

I'll be bringing the Sleep Sack on every sailing trip from now on -- even if I don't use it, it's no extra burden.

Very comfortable to sleep in, feels like a less restrictive sleeping bag, I especially liked the pillow cover that turns hotel pillows into silk covered pillows.
