Product Description
The Radical 452 GTX is unmistakably the boot that re-established Danner's relevance among the hiking elite. TERRA FORCE™ technology makes it happen while Gore-Tex keeps it dry.

5 out of 5 stars Tightwad's review   August 26, 2008

These are excellent short life boots, maybe good for 2 to 3 years of medium duty at the most. They are very overpriced due to the "Danner" name. If you could get the confort and fit in one of the less expensive short life boots, then I would suggest that you save the extra dollars that Danner gets for it's name and buy the other product.

2 out of 5 stars Soles Let Them Down   March 24, 2008

I've had these boots for about a year but only recently started wearing them regularly. In that time I've only worn them on difficult terrain a few times. The soles are GONE! The boots look great, as they should being practically new. They are quite comfortable since they've been broken in. But I'll be forced to trash them soon as the sole is just about smooth and they cannot be resoled. Too bad, I grew up respecting the Danner reputation. These shoes just haven't lived up to that reputation.

5 out of 5 stars Wonderful for the toes!   March 6, 2008

A fairly avid hiker, I had been struggling for some time to find a boot that would prevent the pain in my (relatively long) toes that I usually experienced during long hikes, especially during downhill stretches.

I stumbled on these boots after reading another review commenting on the spaciousness of the TerraForce toe box... sure enough, these boots did the trick, relieving at least 80% of the previous discomfort. The extra room is visible, barely, as a slightly-flared toe area, a bit reminescent of a side-cut ski. The soles are also noticably stiffer than my last pair (Hi-Tec V-Lites) and seemed much more supportive.

Overall, although considerably more expensive, these boots are a great improvement. I'm hooked, and will be buying Danner's for the foreseeable future.

I've just worn out my second pair of these boots, and I'm ordering my third pair. I wear these boots almost every day and they are comfortable and dry. They feel good right out of the box.

These are the most comfortable boots I've ever had straight out of the box. They look good and feel even better. Highly recommended!!!!
