Product Description
Drip brews coffee just like your household coffeemaker, plus it makes many other hot drinks like hot cocoa, hot cider, and even soup. It features a removable swing out filter basket, solid steel base, easy pour decanter, and brewing pause N serve. The cof

4 out of 5 stars Coleman Camping Coffeemaker   October 14, 2008

Coleman 5008C700T Camping Coffeemaker, Black I have been using the Coleman Camping Coffeemaker for several years, now. It has held-up well, despite the glass carafe, and does not look any different now than it did when I bought it.

The Coleman Coffeemaker works just like any home drip system, with several small differences;

1. It is slower - even with a hot camp stove, don't expect to be sipping a cup-of-joe in less than 15 minutes.

2. There is no visible gauge on the reservoir. You have to measure the water using the carafe, adding an extra cup to account for evaporation.

I have recommended the Coleman Coffeemaker to several friends, and they have also been happy with it. Note that it does take a fairly hot stove (~10,000 BTU) to work well, and the stove needs a nice wide surface for the coffeemaker to sit on; it will not work with a smaller round-burner stove.

4 out of 5 stars A permanent part of my hurricane kit   September 18, 2008

We orginally bought one of these units to use for camping trips, and I agree with the reviewer that said that it is somewhat bulking if your going to really be "roughing it". I got this unit and it has been sitting in my storage shed for 6 or 7 months because we have not been on an outing that I felt we needed to carry the extra bulk. We just went through hurricane Ike and after the power went out we pulled out all the "fancy" camping stuff, stoves and things like that- including this coffee pot. I was very impressed with its performance, so much so I came back today to buy another so we have an extra for emergency situations.
It does take awhile for it to brew a whole pot of ten cups- about 35 minutes- but when you are desperate it is well worth the wait. It tastes exactly like the coffee that I make in the house. You have to be very careful about the handle and make sure that it is facing forward- but all in all this was an excellent product that provided a little bit of luxury during a nasty situation.

I received my coffee maker and few weeks ago and just love it. I have a gas stove in my house and use this coffee maker all the time because I am not connected to the Grid and have limited use of 120V AC. Just what I have been looking for for years.....

5 out of 5 stars Amazing!   August 15, 2008

This coffee maker works just as well as my plug in at home! If you must have your coffee in the morning this product is great! I just placed it on my camp stove and turned the propane on high and in just a matter of minuets I had coffee!

I purchased this coffeemaker to use while camping. I have only used it on the stove in my camper but so far I am pleased with the purchase. It isn't as fast as my coffeemaker at home, actually it's really quite slow, but I love the pause and serve feature- it makes it worth it.
