About Swiss Army Knives
In 1884, Swiss cutler Karl Elsener set up shop in Ibach-Schwyz, installing a waterwheel in Tobelbach Brook to run his grinding and polishing machines. Thus began what would become the international brand name Victorinox, a combination of Victoria, for Elsener's mother, and "inox," or stainless steel. Today, Victorinox produces watches, luggage, clothing, and, famously, Swiss Army Knives. The original product dates to 1897, when Elsener patented the Swiss Officer's and Sports Knife he supplied to the Swiss Army. Following World War II, American servicemen and women shopping in PX stores shortened the name to Swiss Army Knife, which lives on in English-speaking countries around the world and has become a metaphor for versatility.

I purchased this little pocket knife a while ago on the recommendation of a friend. It is the first pocket knife I've every purchased and boy am I glad I chose this one.
The size is perfect for me and sits on my craft table all the time. I use this thing constantly for all kinds of things. I use the little scissors almost daily and the knife is razor sharp and efficient. Like others have said, the blades to lock so you do have to be careful when using it.
The light is handy for quick light and the pen has come in handy several times.
I would recommend this for any one looking to jump in and make their first purchase. You won't regret it.

Fantastic Knife. All kinds of great things for your every day use when away from home,plus it all fits on a key chain.Love the orange peeler. The only negative I have is the knife is a bit thick and somewhat bulky when I put the keychain in my pocket. Hey!! The prestige of owning a Red Swiss Army Knife with the Swiss Cross on it overcomes any small negatives it might have. This cross in particular when pressed, has a glorious red light shining out of the end of the knife. Not sure what I am going to do with the light,it's just comforting knowing that it is there. I guess it would impress my friends,when I show them the cool red light coming out of my Red Swiss army Knife. The Red Swiss Army Knife is probably the most instantly recognized knife in the world. Wow!! I got all this for only $19.99 on the gold box deal. Can't beat that.

I got it for the deal of the day for 20 dollars, and i couldnt be happier. It works great for what i need it for. Has a ton of little gadgets in it and has come in handy so far. The only thing i dont like about it much is the blades are pretty small, but thats okay though.
